Last week, the governor of Illinois announced that a consolidation of police & fire pension funds will be introduced for legislators to approve during the upcoming short veto session.
The problem is, there are no solid plans to implement consolidation. Moreover, who will be involved in planning is yet to be determined. IPPAC (and many other pension fund organizations) would like the State to take more time to study and plan before consolidation takes place
We are urging our members to contact the Governor & their representatives urging them to take more time to come up with specifics rather than trying to figure it out as they go along.
